According to the findings of a recent Harvard study, people who ate at least three servings of berries a week saw the most benefits.

Considered a “superfood”, berries are known for not just for their health benefits but also for their skin benefits. Other than being choke-full of vitamins, berries are antioxidant and anti-aging too – this means that they slow down the signs of aging and prevent skin cell damage from occurring.

Here are some berries you can consider incorporating into your diet:

Acai Berries

The vitamins in acai berries play an important role in the regeneration of the skin, which leads to more youthful and radiant skin. Their anti-flammatory properties are able to heal and control acne, and using a mask made of acai berries can help in lightening scars!

Blueberries can reverse damages caused by free radicals and toxins in your body. The vitamins they contain helps to balance hormones and counteracts acne. It’s also been proven that blueberries are able to reduce the damages to the skin due to too much exposure to the sun.

Rich in nutrients and antioxidants, cranberries fix and prevent cell damage, and enhances the level of cell regeneration. They reduce the damages caused by free radicals (wrinkles, fine lines, pigmentation etc) and slow down the aging process.

In comparison to all other fruits, raspberries have the highest concentration of antioxidant levels. They can protect you from the sun, and reduce spots, wrinkles and discolouration of the skin caused by aging.

The high amounts of Vitamin C in strawberries can plays a role in eradicating freckles and aging spots, as well as kickstarting the collagen production in the skin. Collagen is important as it helps the skin preserve its firmness and elasticity, hence helping you to look young.

If you’re amazed by what these berries can do for you, try to incorporate a serving of berries into your diet at least 3 times a week (as per the Harvard study) and you will likely see their benefits!
